Josh Clemons Forced
To Withdraw From Nashville
Lebanon,
Tennessee, Aug. 11, 2004 - - ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie Josh Clemons announced
today that his rookie Clemons Racing team will be forced to withdraw
from the Waste Management 200, as their engine they planned to take
to the event is still out of commission.
"This turn of events is unfortunate," said the driver of
the No. 41 United States of Mind Ford Taurus. "I was
really looking forward to getting back on the track and overcome
these recent engine problems, but I guess we’ll just wait a little
more before we return to the track."
Clemons was pumped about heading to Nashville, as in his ARCA RE/MAX
Series debut back in the spring, the Indiana native punched out a
solid ninth place finish, after starting seventh.
"Nashville is a track that I really like. We were heading
back to the track looking to score a top-five finish as a team but
we’ll concentrate on our next event. I just hate this for
all of our sponsors," added Clemons.
It is unknown at this time when the Clemons Racing team will return
to the track.
The Waste Management 200 is the 16th of 22 events on the 2004 ARCA
RE/MAX Series schedule. This weekend will mark the second time the
teams have competed at Nashville Superspeedway this season. First
round practice is on tap Friday morning with qualifying also
on the agenda this Friday afternoon August 13th, with the race set
to take the green flag Saturday, August 14th. The Speed Channel will
broadcast the race live, starting at 1:00pm CST.
The ARCA RE/MAX Series starts off a double-header at Nashville on
Saturday. Following the event, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series will prepare for their event which is slated to start at
4:00pm CST.
